Happy Earth Day
“We love the Earth, it is our planet / We love the Earth, it is our home,” Lil Dicky, Earth
If you’re reading today’s blog, you’re from the planet earth. And if you’re reading today’s blog, there’s a pretty high chance that you’re currently on planet Earth too! We’re taking a moment today recognize Earth Day, and to be thankful for our planet, featuring Lil Dicky’s single Earth which was released in 2019 and is filled with a star-studded cameo cast.
Earth Day occurs every year on April 22nd and is one of the biggest environmental protest movements on the planet. The purpose of the day is to draw awareness to environmental causes, to promote sustainability, to promote conservation, and to encourage action in taking care of our world. The theme of Earth Day 2024 is Planet vs Plastics, and EarthDay.org is advocating for a 60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040.

Spend less of your money intentionally with companies who contribute to climate change. This might seem impossible, but you can be a prudent consumer and shift your spending TO companies fighting climate change and FROM companies contributing most to it. On Thursday, 4/4/2024, the Carbon Majors Database published a report which found that “80% of these global emissions from 2016 through 2022 can be traced to just 57 corporate and state producing entities,” (read the full report here).
Set a SMART goal for yourself to reduce plastic consumption.
